I'm honestly a 'defense' type person. It's great we can focus force anywhere, but thay doesn't stop possibly millions of Americans dying before sending that focused force. that's the point. if we admit symbols have power and association, the US flag is a symbol of bad shit. change it and you're ending the immediate association. it doesn't make immediate material difference but thats not the point? its identifying the new state's or movements intention to break from the old
