What do you folks think? Has CBD helped you, do you feel any better? Or are the effects just placebo?

As a dumb stoner I always thought smoking CBD is the worst of both worlds. You get all of the bad stuff (smells loud af, and money spent) without the very obvious therapeutic effects.

I've used CBD oil, and it had almost an immediate effect on curbing stress and anxiety. It also helped me sleep, although, uh, my libido may have gone a little crazy after the initial dose kicked in. Sorry, volcel police.

The anti-anxiety effects lasted maybe 12-16 hours or so before wearing off, but it was like my cortisol receptors were being blocked... Until they very suddenly weren't. It felt like it reset all of my chronic stress tolerance for a day, and I was an angsty mess for several hours after the CBD wore off. It was nice before that, though. The other caveat is that you build up (temporary) tolerance to CBD very quickly, so you end up needing to bump up the dose to maintain the same level of calm/focus, unless you only do it for a day or two and then abstain for a week.

If you have ADHD or anxiety disorder, just get real meds -- CBD is too finicky for long-term treatment of much of anything. Recreationally, it's nice for mellowing out and does help a bit with chronic pain.

I've used CBD (tincture) and found it to be helpful with my anxiety. A few drops twice a day made a huge difference in my ability to chill down and manage everyday shit when I was in school and getting in my own head regularly. I can't speak as to how it interacts with regular THC though

If you take enough, it feels like getting high, which is cool, but also not entirely the point

That's awesome. As much as I love getting high, I also self medicate with cannabis so if CBD could have me feeling less anxious and depressed without the impairment, I might give it a shot by dropping THC altogether.

EDIT: Ok, not altogether, but relegate it to weekend use or w/e.

I’ve tried both CBD oil and lotion.

I’m pretty sure it’s all snake oil.

CBD also "cancels out" THC, and has a lingering effect, so it ruins future highs that day. Not sure how long it lasts, but that's a hell no from me. I can barely afford weed, I can't risk it not doing the thing I need it to do

The absolute fuck, is this true? First time I am hearing about it.

I mean, I'm not a doctor but that's something they tell you when you're a newbie. If you get too high, just take some CBD.

It's why those 1:1 strains don't really get you high and are used by people to handle pain. They don't have to get "high" but still get the anti inflammatory and pain reliving properties of cannabis

CBD is like nothing at all. Gave my dad some who has prolly never smoked weed and he seemed to get drowsy. Delta 8 is real tho.

Topical stuff hasn't ever worked for me. Lozenges and the concentrated oil drops taken orally always seemed to do a pretty good job of aspirin/ibuprofen but took way less time to actually take effect with the downside that the pain reduction wouldn't last as long as taking aspirin/ibuprofen.

Found it worked best when feeling a migraine coming on to pop a pill for the long term effects with a lozenge or a few drops of CBD oil to get a kick start on the pain reduction.

Not too bad on curbing joint pain for about an hour as well.

Yeah CBD takes the edge off my anxiety big time and I sleep more restfully days that I've taken it. I use a "full spectrum" extract that has 25mg of CBD. I take a bit under a full dose a day.

There are a lot of tinctures and so on out there that contain something like 25 - 50 mg per bottle if you read the fine print, which I think are absolutely scam products.

I've tried various methods of ingesting CBD in various amounts over the years, and the only thing that has ever done anything for me is vaping it. Feels like my body just needs THC for any of the effects people use CBD for.

I've enjoyed a CBD ointment I got. I also occasionally enjoy an edible that has some CBD and some THC. Always seems extra chill but less stoned. Generally though... give me that THC.

I've tried it for a while, vegan gummies and then I stepped up to higher dose capsules. Over about 6 months I didn't notice anything different. My typical anxiety stayed the same and I slept the same amount. I'm not really sure what I was expecting, but if there was any impact then I didn't notice anything firsthand. I've also been on SSRIs and never felt anything from that either. Either meds just have a hard time working on me or I can't seem to notice any difference.

I use it to calm my brain at night and help me get to sleep, and it works wonders. I usually take a 120mg gummy which I think might be a high dose.

I like CBD as an anti-inflammatory.

    1. As skin cream it's provided great muscular pain relief after hiking for myself and partners along with arthritis pain relief for my mother. However, it's very inconsistent brand-to-brand. The only one I've found locally which works well is called Nordic Goddess.

    2. As a vape pen oil, it was effective pain control on its own after my vasectomy. No stomach irritation like the low-grade alternatives or addiction risk like the narcotics I was given.

    3. As flower, either on its own or as 1:1 THC, it helps with general pain control. I sleep easier.
