The Inca had a society that had enough food for everyone, they were post-scarcity

Kinda funny how the proto-communist Incan empire is really just the Quechua, which later transformed into the Peruvian Communist Party.

Feds don’t like it when we point out the shining path to Western leftists.

I have issues with the Shining Path despite a lot of good things in their theory (My critique is broadly that pointed out in Continuity and Rupture.), and I'd struggle to call the Quechua Hegemony Proto-Communist (although it certainly had some pretty based features) for the same reason I'd not call the Egyptian New Kingdom that.

But it is really interesting that one of the less bad empires to have existed, with socialistic features already apart of their economy, embraced communist thought so readily. I really wish Marx had known more about the Inca as I think it would have developed his analysis considerably.
