fuck my first thought was napoleon and then i realised an individual with an advanced weapons system might not have the capacity to steer the direction of history :sadness:

my guy had way more firepower and still didnt manage to drag europe into modernity

so anyway im giving it to john hinckley jr

do you mean His Imperial and Royal Majesty Napoleon I, By the Grace of God and of the Constitutions of the Empire, Emperor of the French, King of Italy, Mediator of the Swiss Confederation, Protector of the Confederation of the Rhine, Co-Prince of Andorra?

      i wouldn't give a weapon to a monarch myself
      well, perhaps the business end
      at speed

yeah, that guy. not without controversy but the empire was still the most progressive in europe and if we're subscribing to great man shit id rather contribute to the triumph of (less) progress than an explosive but doomed attempt at more (the idealist near-communists in the revolution)

Napoleon could maaaybe be a good choice IFF you did it right after Haiti revolts and you made it conditional on allying with L'Ouverture to start slave rebellions in the USA is his best path to destroying the British

sending troops to haiti and using it to hit the bahamas & jamaica would have a very appreciable effect on the british. starting a war with the US idk about, esp. considering they went against the brits themselves in 12

am I crazy or is there a possibility that without the rum ration (produced in British carribbean colonies) the Royal Navy might have fallen apart due to mutiny

was just riffing on the Napoleon choice but that's a great point
