I've got one, it's neat, it's been fun dickin around with Linux, getting my feet wet with it before I put it on my desktop next. I've been using it as a big ol gameboy that can play :tequila-sunset: , and what more do you honestly need? (besides food, shelter, etc)

Yeah I like it. Performance is pretty good and despite its size it got good handling. Might eventually mess around with the desktop mode, but I've already got a computer running Linux so its not a huge draw for me.

I just got one. It's neat as hell, and EmuDeck literally makes emulating on it so easy I fucked it up by trying too hard when it already did the heavy lifting for me.

Theyre super cool but I have a monster desktop and a switch. Hard to justify the cost even with the steam library.

That's a good idea but do keep in mind that these are basically the best PCs you can buy for the price for a large margin so even when you're done using it as a handheld you can repurpose it as a HTPC quite easily, or use it for just every day computering.

I don't expect a steam deck 2 for 3+ years and I really don't know if they're going to be as aggressively priced.

Which edition would you all recommend? I figured you can just but an external hard drive or something so you don't need the highest end version but I dont know if it has features you'd miss

I think you can use a micro SD card for additional storage, but those can get expensive in larger sizes.

The only differences between the tiers is storage space and some cosmetic stuff, and an SD card is cheaper than what they're charging for the higher tiers' onboard storage so I just grabbed the base model and a 512gb SanDisk
