        It's really going to make their brains explode if they ever find out that Chinese people from, say... Yunnan and Heilongjiang can look quite different and still identify as Han.

        Almost as if Han is a socio-cultural identity rather than one based on physical attributes.

        Not entirely, they're just too racist to see diversity in other races.

        There are some very racist memes around that show a collection of white people labelled with various nationalities, stuff like Irish, Italian, German, etc and depicted with cultural icons or stereotypes of each one, then show a collection of black people with absolutely no differences between them.

        Which is Ludicrous because both of those places have the highest rates of human biodiversity on the planet.
