Yes that is why i like having a con monarchy in that game to put back the socialists when that happens
I can't wait until 50 years from now when a proper socialist system is able to be played in those types of games.

Victoria 2. If the liberals get in charge, they'll ban the gov't from building or subsidizing factories, and close them if they're unprofitable. So if you have a megafactory producing your entire country's steel that becomes unprofitable for a moment (say the 23rd war for Alsace–Lorraine ends and France+Germany aren't importing as much artillery), they'll tear it down. And then they'll tear down the no-longer profitable machine parts, automobile, artillery, steam ship, and canning factories. And then they'll build wooden ship factories in every coastal state because it's 1920 and everybody else moved on to steel ships so they can corner the market.
