like i would guess japan will win against costa rica, so they just need to tie with spain, and if spain doesn't choke and lose to germany they are out, which would be their second time in a row leaving on the group phase

Costa Rica is at the end of a "golden generation" where they had some great teams, but because the same core of players has been eating up all the pitch time over the past decade they haven't developed much behind them.

There's no way Germany wins against Spain. They'll fly home after the first round again.

      It happened last World Cup.

Even better was the US soccer team not even qualifying! Chuds didn't even know it happened, but the boo-hoo from libs was exquisite. They hate being patriotic except for those few times they can safely do it without being on the same side as the chuds. Soccer is one of those. I hope the US team gets crushed by Iran. :amerikkka: And England, and goes home early.

TBH i thought noone in the US would care about their mens soccer team. But TIL.

So many upsets this year. The old guard being taken down by new talent. Kind of reflects the world order shift.

Bookies gave Japan about 15% chance of winning the game
