I wish Japanese kendo dojos accepted foreigners. European fencing was the one sport I was really good at as a kid and I wanted the same kind of thing but more violent. Went into one within a week of moving to Japan and immediately got the 🙅♂️from their door guy.

I didn't know any locals who did it. My firefighters were bodybuilders or pack-a-day smokers.
I saw a place down in the city that taught kendo and European broadsword techniques that I really wanted to go to, maybe I will if they're still open
