Hey fellow libs. I've always hated guns. I was a pacifist most of my life. I think killing people is bads. Hell, I'm a vegetarian because I think meat is torture. I moved on to not wanting a gun in my house because I tended to be suicidal and didn't want the option. Anyway, on to the topic at hand. I'd like to arm myself for the upcoming revolution. I've shot a gun exactly once. My SO has some relic rifle from like WWII Russia. I know fuck all about guns. Where do I even start?
Oh nice, your SO has a mosin nagant (maybe)? Anyway, most are recommending an AR-15 build anymore. 5.56 is a NATO ammunition so in a revolutionary context it will be plentiful. It's always nice having a bolt action hunting rifle for various purposes too. And shotguns are also useful in different context (hunting small game, close quarters combat).
I should add, there's nothing wrong with being pacifist. I see socialism as pacifist by default until defense is needed.
He said he has an SKS. Thanks for the response! I'm hoping my extensive knowledge of native plants and mushrooms comes in handy. Not to mention my general knowledge of the local woods and access to tons of maps with the ability to make anything I want.
