    The whole subreddit literally only did shit posts, and discord is better community wise

      Now that I think about it, one issue with the discord is that you can't downvote bad takes into oblivion. You have to actually tell people to stfu, and that's noisy/tiresome

        or you ignore them and they dont post on the discord, they post in the lemmy leave the community

          Sometimes they do leave on their own, but there's been a bunch of cases where users had to tug on a mod's pantleg to get them to mute or ban a user. It's nice letting the hivemind coalesce on what takes are good/bad enough to warrant their rank on the page.
