This guy is asking for thinly veiled cover for his sex tourism. Medellín (Colombia in general) is a hot spot for sex tourism.

But a normal people not looking for sex tourism would just say, "what should i do in Medellín", you know, like a normal person.

This is typical lib thinking, convincing himself he's "a world traveler" going to immerse himself in the "culture", telling friends the "legit" reasons he's going, but his true motivation is a perverse hedonistic coke bender.

Colombia is awesome in general. But the vibe is this guy wants to go for all the wrong reasons yet pretend he's going for some higher enlightenment so he can make cognitive dissonance between his alleged intentions and actual actions to salvage his internal moral conflict.

this just made me remember this awkward joke i made once, when i was telling a newish acquaintance about a trip i took in my early 20s to Amsterdam. in reality, i flew there after quitting a job i hated to be part of the magic of legal weed for a week, back before it was decriminalized anywhere in north america. anyway, fast forward 10 years and i'm telling someone about going there and seeing some commuter with a fold up bicycle getting off a train and they ask, "oh why did you go to the netherlands?" and i said, in my typically deadpan style, "for the legal prostitution obviously", which i thought would be recognized as obviously ludicrous because i thought i didn't seem like the type. but i guess i sold it by throwing it away like that. story of my life.

of course, they looked at me blankly, trying to hide disgust. i quickly tried to explain i was joking and just an idiot stoner going to the stoner mecca of the early 2000s, but it took some convincing.
