There's gotta be some middle ground.
My neighbors set off fireworks every. Single. Night. For months. At like 10pm when I'm trying to sleep. And not small ones. Giant ones that literally make me bolt up in my sleep and make my heart race. Louder than a gunshot.
Are you serious? Someone can have a legit fear and also can be jumping to the most extreme conclusion and I can have sympathy for that and also point out that it's extreme. All that can exist at once without you calling me an asshole.
The problem is they only ever set off a single firework. A single giant fucking firework. So I can't tell which neighbor does it, it could be one of like 5 houses. And I live in a rougher neighborhood and I cannot imagine some skinny looking white dude awkwardly knocking on doors asking them to stop is going to produce anything. Plus I'm sure they know they're being dipshits, I cannot imagine they would stop if asked. And fuck calling police.
im in seattle and there are rumors that chuds or government bad men are going around in predominately black neighborhoods (like mine) and setting them off to "condition" people. but that sounds super stupid.

I won't presume to know your upbringing, but I grew up incredibly poor in an incredibly diverse area (though of course everything is still segregated). And poor people figure out ways to have money for certain entertainment and luxuries. Like fucking cars, drugs and fireworks.
And fireworks aren't "dumb." They are exciting as fuck. Aside from people with actual fucking PTSD or fucking terrified pets and shit, I get the vibe it's mostly over-educated dorks who also hate things like sports hate fireworks.
