Ultimately, she collapsed into a fetal position face down on the frozen floor

It was her son [who worked at the same location] who found her body in the freezer

a former employee said the walk-in freezer latch had been broken since at least August 2022 and that employees used a screwdriver to help open and close the door and a box of oil to prop it open

I feel so bad for her son. What a terrible thing to see. I hope he gets therapy.

The franchise owner and general manager of that particular store should be charged with fucking murder.

Also, more importantly, why on EARTH is it legal to build a walk in that doesn’t have fucking panic bars and at least 2 doors? The company that sold the walk in should be fucking shut down too.

I have very little faith in our justice system but I do know that OSHA doesn't fuck around with stuff like this, so I'd be surprised if anyone in management who knew about the latch and didn't act doesn't get jail time for this. Fingers crossed, what an awful situation.

I worked in a place with a walk in freezer. The walls had some kind of metal cladding that did indeed cause your cell signal to drop when you stepped inside. Not enough to kill it completely but it was noticeable.

OSHA dinged my bosses for having a broken door latch on that freezer. I don't know how this Arby's might have gotten away with it but 8 months is a longass time for something this serious to be let go.

It is in fact more like a Faraday cage, idk if it works the same but you can't really reach anyone while in there and the door is closed

Convict the managers and owners of murder and stuff them in the same freezer so we can see how much they like it themselves.

We let them out after they’ve beat their hands bloody trying to escape, but before they die, so that they can think about it he told they rot in prison
