Given his love libraries I assume he likes socialism at the bare minimum. Given his age, it’s very likely a USSR doctor treated him after he fought the bear. He probably understands the tragedy of the 90’s quite well.

Zangief's original ending in street fighter 2 is him meeting Gorbachev after winning the world tournament. (the only story beat in the game that canonically dates it) They had to change his ending in sf2 turbo because the Soviet Union dissolved a few months after the original game came out

Edit: LMAO found it. Here's the vastly inferior altered ending .

I interpret his bio exactly the opposite. The guy's super nationalist, dislikes women, and has adopted a distinctly American-inspired persona and fighting style. He's 100% a United Russia shill and has probably ranted on RT about how the woke mob is causing the west to collapse.

All of his successful students are women. He is also shown to admire Marisa.

I may be wrong about this, but his constant quest for self-improvement fits within the idea of Soviet masculinity.

I hope I don’t come as to Reddit, I’d be interested in hearing your thoughts on why you interpret the character that way?

I'm thinking of a specific quote, but tbh I haven't played all the games so you might have more info than me.

I’m only going if boomer tier knowledge of SF2 Turbo, SF5, and SF6

What’s the quote? Given my limited knowledge pool you very well might be right.

friendly reminder the chicago public library does not require proof of residence for an e-card.

Edit: and wtf is with those arm belts. One hand :pingu-horny:, but on the other :lea-why:

One thing that pissed me off about his representation in World Tour is their explicit revisionism about why he's the "Red Cyclone". "Oh, yeah, I spun a lot and wore red." Why were you wearing red to begin with, you class traitor fuck?! That's only one part of the modern liberal tricolor, so surely that's not it.

When I have spending money I was planning on picking up the classics (Capital, State & Rev., etc.) on audible.

Currently I do not; but someday.

      They are free online!

Trust me, I know the appeal of a physical copy. No reason not to go digital if the local library system doesn’t have it.
