English, Polish, Russian, and Hebrew Wikipedia pages mention way more detail on atrocities and often point out significant Ukrainian collaboration (wether through official battalions that collaborated with the Nazis or from local Ukrainians).

The Ukrainian wikipedia pages almost never mention Ukrainian participation. Or, they just mention a small, "The Nazis killed all the Jews." It's as if the Ukrainians had never participated.

soviet-hmm hmmm, i wonder who has been saying this for several years now, only to be called Russian shills....

Reminder that Ukraine's diplomat to Germany praised Bandera and said he not only killed Jews, but if he did, he was justified because it was to advance Ukraine's independence. It was so offensive that Germany, Israel, and Poland got involved.

Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry also distanced itself from Melnyk’s remarks, saying in a statement that Melnyk’s remarks did “not reflect the position of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.”

Oh, but it absolutely does, because not only does Zelensky and his government and people praise Bandera, but they didn't even fire Melnyk. They just recalled him and gave him a new position.

As long as they're selling Bandera flags and keychains all over in Kyiv and almost every ukrainain thinks that being a banderite is "ok/patriotic", sadly nothing will change.

So Ukraine commemorating victims of the massacre while celebrating UPA fight for independence isn't good enough?

Stupid tankie. I said sorry for hurting your feelings. But I still don't take back what I said.

Literally, how is this any different than southerners flying the confederate flag saying "heritage not hate" lol. Bandera was so fucking evil that the KGB had to go out of their way to assassinate him after the war was over.

Dear Poles of Reddit, I want to address you. I see how you react to the comments of everyone who opposes your position in one way or another. And I'm sad that you still can't start a constructive dialogue. Ukrainians are looking for a way to reconcile with you, they are making concessions on many issues, but you want even more. You dictate to us the conditions of what we should do, who we should respect and who we should not, but you absolutely do not accept any guilt from your side. You accuse many people of things they have nothing to do with, forgetting the fact that this is exactly the kind of propaganda that the Soviets spread and for some reason you believe it. A lot of what you say is the result of Soviet propaganda, you can open any Russian resource and you will see that they write the same thing. Doesn't it seem strange to you that the Soviets always lied in their propaganda, but everything is true about Volyn?

Poland's government is nationalistic, but they're not map gamers using casus belli on core territories.

On one hand, you have "look at the beautiful polish heritage in [Lviv, etc.]", but on the other, Ukrainians are idolized and the only people that are less than rabidly "Slava Ukraini, kill the Russians sicko-blur " are the even more fash parts of the opposition.

The left is smaller than the one in the USA in 1953 - excluding the small socdem party, or at least they are forced to lay low.
