            The original article does say he was being sent home because of an unspecified crime.

            Doing a hot take fusion dance: the crime could be basically anything, but the lower and upper parameters of severity are unlikely (traffic tickets don’t get you sent home and treason gets instant solitary in a torture pit). As others have said, SA or drugs. There is still the chance the crime is a fabrication to spin the bad press of a guy defecting. We should probably wait for more details before judging too much. Cackling hahaha as he crosses the border makes me want to be sympathetic after all lol.
