Looking for your favorite mobile games, especially roguelikes. I'm interested in stuff that's only on mobile and if rather pay a few bucks up front than deal with ads or timers.

i was thinking of exploring a lot of routes depending on if you want to play as a woman, man, trans, gay or straight. realistically all these would be possible in weimar republic, but obviously they would all have incredibly different experiences in life and pretty much all interactions with people.

the intro would be playable and it would take notes and when the game actually begins you'd be put into the freikorps(gross), spartacists(hell yeah) or a apolitical shitlib who can choose a side later. you could obviously change sides at certain point. maybe you got a shred of empathy and decide to ally with spartacists or decide to be an absolute pitboy and die in the epilogue by freezing to death in Stalingrad

two end states with a communist victory (red germany let's gooooooooooooo) or for the fash and libs you'd get nazi germany in 1930s like usual.

was thinking you'd get to meet liebknecht-processing and rosa and you could kill hitler and nothing would change in the fash ending because, obviously.

now i would just need to fill this plot-skeleton with words that arent shitty to read when put together sadness

I've been wanting to make this thread too so I'm gonna hijack it for my own selfish purposes like the white male imperialist I was raised to be.

I like picross and I like games I can pick up and put down endlessly and play for seconds or minutes at a time. What exists in those categories these days.

I don't even have any suggestions for you I haven't done a mobile game in a very long time.

Luck be a Landlord (paid) slot machine roguelike where you pick symbols that synergize with each other and recieve aid from communists to defeat your landlord. just got its mobile release!

Slice and Dice (paid w/ demo, no ads) turn based roguelike with dice-rolling combat, lots of different modes. Great art.

You Must Build a Boat (paid, no ads) match 3 roguelite with added depth from items, spells, and such. also worth checking out its predecessor 10000000.

Meteorfall: Journeys (paid, no ads iirc) simple roguelike deckbuilder with endearing art and multiple characters to play as.

Simon Tatham's Puzzles (free, no ads) open source collection of 40 puzzles. none are super deep but entertaining in short spurts.

Card Thief (free w/ ads & IAP, but pretty sure you can pay to remove ads) card based stealth game that takes you through an escalating series of heists

Super Auto Pets (free base & weekly pack, paid expansion packs, IAPs for cosmetics) well regarded asynchronous autobattler with cute art and a surprising amount of depth. juice me, squeeze me

Slice and Dice being so good is what inspired this thread. This list looks excellent. I will report back on the games I give a shot.

Ok I got Luck Be a Landlord and basically spent all day playing it whenever I had a few minutes (and some extended sessions). Absolutely excellent! I had no idea a slot machine could be such an interesting and complex mechanic. You really have to think through all your choices to build your machine. Plus it's super communist.

Vampire Survivors is pretty good. I wouldn't call it roguelike necessarily though. It more bullet hell than anything else. But cool for playing during commutes if you ride public transit.

I dig VS and I've gotten extremely into the subgenre it's spawned lately. Death Must Die, Crafty Survivors, Rift Rangers, and especially Halls of Torment. But those are all games that (so far in my experience) I can grab on PC. I want something mobile exclusive.

Another Eden is like a spiritual sucessor to Chrono Trigger. (Like heavily mirrors it) You can play through the main campaign without paying and the gacha isn't all up in your face or required. Wonderful art, story, and music.

It's a beefy one at like 300mb and a bit glitchy on the updates (like break your account glitchy) - make sure one of the firs tthings you do is get a Tranfer code. Don't count on google or apple to back up your account.

For rougelikes - i've been obcessed with Vampire Survivors for the past couple of months. That's a google play link. I've been playing it on Steam. Not sure how it plays on mobile, but it shouldn't be too graphically intense as it's done in beautiful pixelized style. It's got a 4.7/5 rating and over 1 Million downloads (just on Google Play) so that's saying something.
