                Literally opening the flood gates of giving the feds more tools to monitor and crack down on leftist spaces. Nbd.

                  The authors plan on selling the "tools" to police departments, those "tools" being the exact same kind of analysis as this report, but again and for more money.

            you’re so right on the p hacking part, they coulda just pretended they ran an analysis and BSd the interpretation.

            “we found it was approaching significance with a P =.10” or something

      Word clouds are actually a surprising effective tactic when it comes to sentiment analysis as it relates to generating advertiser profiles and other things like content recommendation.

      But this study is using it in the opposite way of that. I.e. the phrase acab can be used to determine if a forum is leftist or or not because pre identified leftist spaces use that phrase, it cannot be applied to say this is what leftists are.
