    He has his flaws, but he seems deserving of critical support. He identifies capitalism as a driving force for suffering and that global poverty must be addressed, along with climate change. Definitely not the worst Pope in recent memory, and arguably one of the better ones.

      Agreed. I kind of dislike how he started to focus so much on climate change during the abuse scandal, because it just kind of ended up dividing Catholics even more and it looked like an attempt at a diversion, but it's definitely great that he's been so vocal about capitalism and ecology.

        Hard agree about that. I will say, not in the defense of the Church but as a criticism against other states, countries could launch investigations and raids to get these priests locked up, but they won’t do it. He is by no means perfect, but at least he’s a religious leader condemning two crises that are existential threats to mankind.
