    nice find! it’s not often we’re exposed to the accounts of an ambassador at large to the USSR. as for his characterization of stalin, I’m not entirely convinced he was so “arbitrary” or “afraid of the people”, Harriman’s opinion here seems influenced by an alignment with khrushchev’s revisionist stance. I didn’t know about the territorial expansionism and border disputes in the sino-soviet split: I assumed earlier was more an ideological divide. as for the other articles, the pictures are captivating, and discounting obligatory anti-soviet bias they were an interesting read. thanks for uploading this.
