Bernie's two runs have been weird. Consider how he dominated the Midwest in the first run, beating Clinton in a bunch of swing states like Michigan and Minnesota and Colorado. Consider how far he came in the Southwest on his second run - winning California, winning Colorado, running neck-and-neck with Biden in Texas and Washington State - I think it illustrates a strong base of support for Berniecrat politics throughout that region and with Hispanic voters in particular.
I don't think he's viable at a national level, particularly while older black voters remain terrified of a leftist candidate. But I do think he has a lot of room to pick up state offices, municipal officials, House Reps, and maybe even a few Senators or Governors. Keep pushing through 2022 and 2024, and there's plenty of progress you can make with leftist leadership, particularly if the communities that embrace these policies grow and prosper relative to their hard-line capitalist peers.
