Libertarian "Socialists" will rail against China for having a private sector. but then will turn around and praise Rojava for selling out its land to the US empire by literally giving them oil fields, calling it a "pragmatic decision" and saying that it "ensures the Kurds' right to self-determination".
When you have no real principles other than liking revolutionary aesthetic, you can say pretty much whatever you want about any state and feel good about it. :^)
Libertarian socialism is no less legitimate as socialism than authoritarian socialism. I would argue libertarian socialism is possibly even more ideologically pure despite the common argument it’s less realistic or less pragmatic. M-L type authoritarian socialism is totally valid (though imo there’s an argument to be had whether China still counts as meaningfully socialist). Calling fellow socialist tendencies fake is counterproductive.
Also I agree with the other reply, Rojava is not the best example or even necessarily a great example of libertarian socialism, it’s just (as critical supporters of China like to say) “existing socialism”.
I don't know anyone who blindly supports Rojava, it just can be used as a good example to libs of democratic confederalist organising with the clickbait bonus that they fight ISIS and support feminism

Yeah this is a fair assessment, I just wanted to dunk on Rojava stans. I talk a lot of shit about Anarchists, but I'd die fighting beside one. <3
Blegh Zapatistas > Rojava
