My little one is almost 3 and they're talking so well it's honestly heartwarming. Our cat is going into heat (we will spay after she's finished) and so is doing a lot of yowling. Little buddy goes "what's the matter, are you hurt?" (Okay more like 'wunsa manner. Are you heeuurrt?')

So cute the cats ok but you're so sweet. If i cough after coming back in from vaping i get asked "dada are otay?" Like how are you already so nice lol

I've been introducing please w/ sign language + verbal for our 1+ year old and he's picking it up fast. His little attempt at please and more are very cute. Our oldest (almost 4) gave me the ✌️👀🫵 (I got my eyes on you) hand signal today randomly and it was very funny. She said her friends at daycare do it. Kids are something else lol.

My partner took our 3-year-old to their cardiologist this week. They did amazing. First time ever lying still for an ECG. Took 30 seconds. We haven’t even “practiced” at home in a few months. Didn’t cry once and didn’t complain once about wearing a mask. I think they were showing off. Doctor said everything is fine, they have a strong heart. We’re moving to annual visits, which has us feeling “😳!!!” but it’s actually a good thing. My partner treated 3yo to ice cream. Piglet was almost left in the parking lot! Thankfully someone picked him up. Ever since 3yo has been playing a little joke on us where they drop Piglet around the house and say, “You dropped your pig,” in a really deep voice. 10/10 comedy gold.

1-year-old is becoming such a little person. They’re talking up a storm now. When they get upset they say, “Paci, Softy, snuggle, couch.” Food continues to be a struggle because they only want to feed themselves. About 10% of all their food actually makes it into their mouth. The rest is evenly spread around the house. Funny when they find random clumps of peanut butter in the stuff pile. Not so funny when I find strawberry in my bed.

The weather finally isn't a billion degrees outside here so we went for a bike ride. It started pouring while we were riding but I tried to make it a game. Either it worked or my kids like the rain anyways because they had a blast.

Normalize getting soaked from poor planning

The wild washer women is asurprisingly based kids book. They don't like the conditions of their employment so they withhold their labour, use their strength from washing to overcome law enforcement, become a roaming militia doing property damage, then choose to marry some woodcutters and start an anarcho primitive commune in the woods.

I was gonna try hard to get a lot done on this new demo site I started. I got a bug up my butt and wrote a whole ass modular restaurant menu component set and it took my 3 days before I was really happy with it. I was getting ready to jump into the rest of the site on Thursday and got a phone call from our youngest's daycare. He decided to get a stomach bug and

    CW vomit

so I went to pick him up and right as I get him into his car seat, he puked all over the back of my car.

We get home and take care of everything. My partner comes home on her lunch break to help. But that basically killed my Thursday and Friday from programming. He seems to be feeling better now but now I got it. So I'm super miserable, been doing more CWing stuff all day myself and have the standard issue stomach cramps where I double over in pain once every half an hour to an hour.

More enjoyable news: others mentioned their kids going through word growth and this story is like that. We were driving around doing chores and I said "back in my day" in an old time voice because my oldest thinks it's funny after seeing it on Captain Underpants. Well our youngest, who is 2.5yo blurted it out in his best impression of me and it was so fucking adorable. He's going through a big word explosion but his speech still seems a little delayed so this was pretty big lol.

I did some purchase therapy and picked up X4: Frontiers but don't feel well enough to even be at my computer.

My partner has been amazing through this whole weekend and really stepped up to help around the house. She's the money person and I'm the chores and cleaning person but she is essentially picking up an extra load of work right after getting transfered to a new school only after 2 weeks at her new job. She's super stressed but has been a champ.

E: now our oldest is sick...

Little one had his 2nd Bexsero (meningococcal group B vaccine). Did an absolute number on his sleep the past 2 nights. Very upset being put to bed like he was scared. 😢
