      They do. I also had a friend in college who had to take some for a medical condition and he told me while he was on them he was waking up at 5AM every day and writing for hours.

      Yeah man. Especially if you get them after being incredibly ill feeling for the weeks leading up to receiving them. I have Crohn's and if you have a bad flare one of the first things they do is give you a course of steroids. You go from not being able to keep any food down and being incredibly lethargic to having a ton of energy and wanting to eat fucking everything in sight.

      They can induce mania too. The course I took a few months ago drove me insane with racing thoughts. I felt like I couldn't get a handle on reality because my brain refused to slow down.

      When I took steroids for chemo they made me go from being extremely mad at the background noises of my house, to incredible despair over me feeling like my life has no future, to hysterically laughing cause I remembered this tweet all within the span of a minute.
