The average American current is denial of a heinous list of atrocities, and anyone who's politically invested in the status quo in the US is going to become the American equivalent of those Turkish guys who turn red when you mention Armenians the second you mention basically anything America did in more than abstract terms or connect any of it as being intentional or knowingly committed.
They also unironically believe all the "freedom" type propaganda horseshit, and don't understand the full extent of how that stuff means nothing and has never meant anything, because in nice white lib world nothing you do ever puts you in meaningful conflict with the American state.
