a post from a very not mad ledditor:

Guantanamo isn't a concentration camp, as much as you want it to be.

    From Encyclopedia Britannica:

Concentration camp, internment centre for political prisoners and members of national or minority groups who are confined for reasons of state security, exploitation, or punishment, usually by executive decree or military order. Persons are placed in such camps often on the basis of identification with a particular ethnic or political group rather than as individuals and without benefit either of indictment or fair trial.

Guantanamo bay is a prison, the camps in which Uyghurs are held are concentration camps.

and flatly dismiss a laundry list of examples of U.S. imperialism

Half of the items on the list were mass killings from civilians, or internal issues. I also have no problem criticising America, I only have an issue when they compare it to China, the worst human rights abuser in the world.

It's all whataboutism and projection, you're the one who sounds like a drone.

I've had half a dozen chapos brigade the comments, spouting the same bullshit about China being a perfect country, and I'm the drone?

Where did the remnants of CTH go? I assume they scampered into their own website the_donald did? Your only influence is brigading buried reddit threads, you're never going to implement your shitty ideals, and there will be no revolution. I'm happy to live in a neoliberal shithole, if it means I get to spite genocide deniers (and that's coming from a market socialist).

Libs are (often without fully understanding) aggressive atrocity deniers. The average American current is denial of a heinous list of atrocities, and anyone who's politically invested in the status quo in the US is going to become the American equivalent of those Turkish guys who turn red when you mention Armenians the second you mention basically anything America did in more than abstract terms or connect any of it as being intentional or knowingly committed.

They also unironically believe all the "freedom" type propaganda horseshit, and don't understand the full extent of how that stuff means nothing and has never meant anything, because in nice white lib world nothing you do ever puts you in meaningful conflict with the American state.
