the signs are already there (JP Morgan circling 'rebuilding' efforts), but damn, when the full details start to come out and if/when the establishment becomes comfortable saying it was a mistake (ala Iraq), it will be shown just how much of a ratfuck this is.
Meanwhile the NHS crumbles more and more every day.
There’s gonna end up being a story several years down the line where there’s an investigation of some terrorist group or fascist dictator or country on the ‘s naughty list that shows a huge chunk of their arsenal is arms that were sent to Ukraine and “somehow” ended up in their hands.
Why do these ghouls always look like they're in the process of unhinging their jaw to eat a baby?
I don't think they'll ever have to admit that Ukraine was a mistake because the goal is to keep Russia occupied, funnel cash to the MIC, and turn Ukraine into a neoliberal scratch and dent sale. As long as we approach a more multipolar world, they'll be able to play Russia Bad / China Bad to their hearts' (and wallets') content.
Any sort of "mistake" they would admit to would be something along the lines of "we were too naive and trusting with those shady asiatics in Ukraine" it would be 100% blaming Ukraine for everything and acting like the west is an innocent naive pawn of evil dictators who tricked them.
Yeah, idk. Like I'm sure it's a matter of time before Zelensky gets ousted or offed or something, but it'll just be a changing of the patsy; short of a leftist revolution, they'll just keep hitting the resistance to Russia machine with a fresh coat of paint and roll on, is my guess.
They'll only be doing that as long as it is profitable for them though. Once Ukraine is fully defeated they can't really get a good return on investment anymore, so they'll abandon them.
Short of using nukes or the USA's level of depravity they showed in Vietnam and Korea, I don't think there is a win for Russia. And if Ukraine were to surrender that's when their leadership would get ousted and replaced with a "true patriot". Ukraine is basically just a method of funneling western government money to an international MIC. I really don't see a permanent shut off for that tap without revolution in the western world.
Yeah, you raise a good point. I can see a point of diminishing returns for the MIC but a "reliable" customer that they can keep making money off of would be ideal for them. They do love their forever wars.
Yeah, the people profiting are not the same people paying the cost.
Are there any pictures where zelensky doesn't look like he's about to cry or shit?
Never thought about it until now, but maybe he's just super photosensitive...this is how I look in any photo taken outside while the sun is out
British politicians looking more and more like the bouge in The Hunger Games
3bil about .08% of the uk GDP I think, when you think about the money that has poured into ukraine this is actually pennies
Public funding for health services in England comes from Department of Health and Social Care’s budget. The Department’s spending in 2022/23 was £181.7 billion
I did the rough math on funds sent to ukraine from aus since 2022 and its almost *1.3bil (iirc), some absurd amount
not that the messaging isnt revolting
*edit i checked my notes
3 billion is 3000 million, its like 1500 roundabouts, at 1.5mil a pop

Talking about money in government makes me feel really silly, but it is all really silly, 3billion is like, footpath money, if i was Ukranian I'd see this as a performative slap in the face lol

Rachel Reeves will be revealed to have personally profited in a significant way from this deal, and won't receive any consequences for doing this.
