I work helping kids with various special needs pass school. It's pretty rewarding. I got full force, closed fist, punched in the eye today, because I broke up a fight. It broke my glasses and I have a headache and a black eye. Getting my glasses fixed ate a lot of my "free time" today, so I just get to eat, sleep and start really early tomorrow.

I'm in a union, so I'll get new glasses without paying and with this having happened I am in a really good position when it comes to negotiating where I should be working after lunch. Tomorrow this will be a good thing. The kid that did it will be really sorry, and I'll be able to extract concessions from him as an apology that will make my job so much easier. I'll have union backing for working where I want to. Congratulations to tomorrow-me. Today, I got punched in the face and had my glasses that I need to function broken because that's what my job is.

I think I get to whine about this, but I've had worse jobs. Even while pressing the ice to my eye and being pretty much blind because the glasses aren't fixed yet, I would not go back to working in a warehouse. Lots of people are worse off than me, but today I get to complain.
