    by their logic, the (mostly) scottish slang for a chinese takeaway is not actually racist because it isn't "used in a racist manner"

    it's literally the slur beginning with ch btw

        i didnt make the connections with that, in the south 90% of convenience stores are managed by Chinese people, paquistani people, arab peope or south american.The chinese people being the first people that started, When i say that i didnt mean it in a racist way

            I felt that calling them Chinos fed into racist tropes that the goods sold by Chinese people, and by extension the people themselves are poor quality, cheap and 'found on every corner'.

            Yes, that is sadly common. I will re-evaluate on how i speak. Thank you for the external perspective. <3
