I know a lot of you are committed activists. I also know a lot of you aren't. This list is for the second group. These are things you can do to passively or easily to make the world a little less shitty without trying very hard. These are not a replacement for organizing, these are little things you can do to make the world a tiny bit less miserable.
-join a buy nothing group
These are just groups of people who agree to treat things as though they aren't commodities. They're also a good way to get rid of stuff and get sweet new stuff free.
-move your money to a credit union.
They're like banks but members own a share of it, so they tend to be better to people.
-eat vegetarian one day a week.
This lowers your carbon footprint by quit a bit. Yes, the onus is on corporations, but that doesn't mean you're totally off the hook.
-go to Anarchist Black Cross's website and write a political prisoner. They're not all anarchists.
It takes as much time as posting and makes someone a little less lonely and a little safer
-put a sharps container in front of your home and maintain it.
This is convenient for drug users and lowers the property value.
-set up a recurring donation to a local org or tribe.
stop being a libshit and go vegan. animal abusers aren't comrades, neither are people who pay for it
Dude I'm vegan. I'm offering a nudge for folks who dont want a push
Alright nice to know that of the few leftists that exist the only ones that count are vegans
As always, there are people who can't be vegan right now and shitting yourself about and calling them dumb hyperbolic veganisms it isn't going to be nearly as effective at helping nudge them in the right direction as OP's suggestion that they work towards reducing their consumption of animal products if they cant go cold turkey (pun intended).
But then you wouldn't get to sit around feeling smugly superior and that's what really matters, obviously.
Grow up.
I have an eating disorder and a very physical job, I'm also poor. The only way I can maintain a healthy weight is through heavy consumption of milk and protein supplements. I would face severe health consequences if I was forced to go vegan. "You aren't a comrade if you aren't vegan" is utterly dehumanizing and shitty.
Ignoring material conditions for purity. Sounds like the American left.
(I do think we have a moral obligation to move our diet away from animal products)
b-but I evolved to prey on abused animals
