I hope some bad stuff happens in canada. As it is right now, any protests or whatever are seen as basically piggybacking off of american protests and as unnecessary. Any valid critique of the country is rebutted with the core tenet of canadian identity: "at least we're not america, look how bad stuff is down there."

If something major happened, then it might allow for some meaningful change, without it being constantly written off as people copying protests cuz its hip or whatever
