          I know what you mean about finding it hard to write when I am not reading enough. Never taught writing, but your experience with the teacher you had hurts my soul. I go in with the expectation that my student will be able to learn to do the thing they are doing because otherwise, it's a waste of time to teach them. The problem some may have is that I feel the disappointment that my student feels when I am encouraging them even if they don't believe in themselves.

          I've been trying to figure out a way to get a writing workshop off the ground in the writing community here, would you be interested in helping me organize it? Send me a PM if this appeals to you.
