Women will necessarily be "much more equal than the men" in the first few generations of a socialist society for similar reasons workers will be "much more equal than" the disempowered capitalists: in the process of sharing out the necessary work, men will have to take up more of the previously feminized and undervalued work offloaded onto women under capital.

In a workers' democracy, around half of the working-class decision-makers will be women and at least some of the working-class men will instantly agree that men will have to take up a greater share of that burden than they did under capitalism, if they understand what working-class solidarity across lines of gender actually entails. What a US writer in the 1960s might see as "unbalanced" is a mere counterbalancing against the lopsided distribution of responsibilities between the genders.

Whether this also means more women will have to take up some of the unglamorous and often dangerous masculinized blue-collar work (e.g. waste management and disposal, mining, construction) to give some of the hardest-working men a break, I'm not sure.
