i also dont really think he’s a fascist.

The US is a para-fascist state and many of its citizens are fascists, including our president.

Im not speaking to any of the actions of the government, which yeah are objectively fascist. Im saying he doesnt have the capacity to actually do anything for ideological reasons. He’s being brutal to protestors because they make him feel bad and he wants to make them feel bad, thats the extent of his thinking

Playing this guessing game on what people are thinking is futile. What are his actions? Why do you think you know why he’s being brutal?

Sure, not disagreeing with that, i just dont ascribe any ideology to Trump as an individual because it seems pretty clear to me that he just goes on impulse. And while his impulses, and therefore his actions, are often fascistic, just dont think he is an ideological actor

He surrounded himself with fascists and now they tell him what to do. He is fascist and his actions are fascist.

My humble critique is that everything Trump does, stupid or not, is in the interest of upholding capitalism which makes it inherently fascist. I would say the ideology Trump subscribes to is capitalism, which would still put him down as a fascist.
