A worker cooperative means that it's owned by everyone who labors for the co-op. A farmer cooperative means that it's owned by the farmers, land owners who exploit workers for their labor. There's also consumer cooperatives, but they're even more complicated.
This is a bit tangential, but it's interesting to note that the largest producer of cranberries in the US, Ocean Spray, is a worker cooperative.
