I wish I could find the video of an old attack ad made by Republicans during 2004 or 2008. It depicted a futuristic Chinese military academy where they are discussing what caused the decline of America. The idea of course that electing a democrat would usher in a thousand years of Chinese domination, which sounds cool as fuck and it's a shame it didn't happen.

I remember in college talking to my professor after class. She told me that most American kids come in thinking they know the material already and leave not really learning much, but the Chinese students come in thinking they don't know anything about the subject and leave learning a lot. Obviously that's not the case everywhere, but that anecdote stuck with me.
