Everyone who didn't respond to the poll in favour of a non-Trump candidate is responsible for Trump getting 56%

...that's how it works according to Democrat voters, right?

Lol, I figured Ramaswamy would get a bit of a bump since he seemed like the only one with any juice. Like he's spending so much energy trying to merge Hinduism and Evangelical Christianity into a new religion just to appeal to people. And nothing.

Kind of sad. Was hoping he would start an American Taiping Heavenly Kingdom with his weird new synthetic religion.

And people here used to be genuinely fearful that Meatball Ron would take down the man he quite literally owes his entire career to. lol

Maybe he had a slim chance once...but then he opened his mouth. ron-soy

      I was one of them.

but then he opened his mouth.

In my defense - I didn't know he sounded like the very whiny asshole in a fifth-rate sitcom.

It's fine, didn't mean to dunk on ya! I'm more just amused by his fall from grace compared to where he was only a few months ago.

I do wonder how much of this is because of his legal stuff with Disney making him look foolish and weak. Also kind of putting an end to the "but he's an intelligent fascist who knows how to work in the system to get the awful things he wants" talking points.

Time after time, I'm reminded that "intelligent fascist" is an oxymoron. Unfortunately, you don't need to be smart to be successful I guess.

Liberals still can't fathom why people like Trump. I feel like I've been explaining why for 8 years and none of them get it, they can't let go of their personal distase.

I think its funny how Ramaswamy can't break 6%.

Like, people desperately want a Trump killer and he's supposed to be the only person the MAGA crowd can stomach but... Nope. 6% that's all you get.

He's not white and he's not Christian - he's Hindu. Once Trump in his inimitable way makes fun of him for that - I think Ramaswamy's "popularity" tanks. I think the Bradley effect is heavily in play.

      Bradley effect

The Bradley effect (less commonly the Wilder effect) is a theory concerning observed discrepancies between voter opinion polls and election outcomes in some United States government elections where a white candidate and a non-white candidate run against each other.

The theory proposes that some white voters who intend to vote for the white candidate would nonetheless tell pollsters that they are undecided or likely to vote for the non-white candidate.

Bobby Jindal won in Louisiana. Its not impossible for a guy like Ramaswamy to get his foot in the door.

But this isn't even a Bradley Effect. He's polling single digits after a big debate win. Can't even get ahead of Ron DeSanctimonious.

That's not just brown people. But white people get the "we assume you're christian by default" credits. You don't have to explain that Bill Clinton or Donald Trump are Christians to anybody.

I can't help but think you get a little in your own head when you're "The Guy". Or even just ancillary to "The Guy". Like, how else could you have gotten here by this litany of historical happy accidents if not for Divine Providence?

Eric Adams really shines with it. You get that vibe off Mitt Romney as well. I have to assume Obama is at least a bit touched by his own mythology.

I assume Biden also thinks of himself as The Guy. He might be far more religious than he lets on because it helps him electorally.

                  Eric Adams

                  He's such a deluded freak.

It’s amazing how much seething hatred fuels the American right. They would do anything to see trump cream Biden, and it has everything to do with losing the previous election and not really about giving them what they ostensibly want. I guess we should all be glad that meatball Ron, or just any other outright fascist, is still going to have to wait in the wings

Polling in the US is crazy. I nearly always ignore it but I do have a look at that page from time to time. Ever-hopeful idiotic lib pundits always say "Maybe in light of recent events - Trump voters are moving away from Trump." Nah, that never happens. That poll speaks volumes. It shows Trump's death grip on the GOP.

The other poll I follow is Biden vs Trump because it's hilarious. Biden and his team are idiots. Talking about the economy is a clear loser but they keep bringing out Tired Old Joe to mention Bidenomics. And Biden's apologists get so mad when people point out that Biden and Trump are neck and neck and how is that fucking possible?

This is the debate where every one of the dozen candidates except Chris Christie raised their hand when asked "who would support Trump if he was convicted and won the nomination anyways." The fact that it was even a question should tell you something.
