I saw a short doc about this a while ago. There was a western guy trying to live in one of these for a day and he tapped out during the night because it waa infested with rats or cockroaches or something.

He talks to a guy from mainland China who moved there to work in construction but he is unemployed and it's the only place he can afford - around 200 EUR. It's more expensive above him because there's a window.
