Russia is like most of Europe - war weapons are war weapons. Civilian firearms are for hunters or very exclusive private security - or criminals. Regular civilians only get air-rifles, (tear) gas pistols, or other less-lethal weapons.
An AK is at its core a fully automatic assault rifle - it's not even legal in the US. I think the only versions sold of it are semi-automatics (unless it's a gun-show/grandfathered-in collector's item or some rare shit like that), which are basically knock-offs made to look like the original - you're paying for the brand name and look, not an actually good gun.
