After 2 months of studying, 20/26 students in the class anonymously chose communism over capitalism on the last week before Christmas break. Teacher thought she was subtly upset (apparently wasn’t subtle) and had the class redo the poll after their final exam on the subject to see if they “learned anything since then”

22/26 students chose communism in the second poll.

I know it isn’t much but dammit it made me feel good

For context this is in NYC

My AP euro teacher told us communism caused the famine because farmers realized they could not work and still get paid the same so no one worked. And like a bunch of other supply problems because no one was working

Ah yes as we all know, people prefer to die than to work. That’s why almost all of the hunter gatherers are dead

In 7th grade I was told it was when wealth was distributed completely equally but most of it was taxed by the government

Capitalism is a type of oligarchical government in which no one shares resources and everyone gets vastly different amounts regardless of how much they work.

That was pretty much what I was taught, and my reaction was like, “Yeah, wow, that does sound shitty.”
