    To make clear, it's still a slur said in the UK. But it migrated from America after the name was already in place for cigarettes and these "meatballs".

    You're much more likely to get called homo, poof or queer in the UK. And, oh boy, was getting called gay as an insult common. :deeper-sadness:

      Homo, poof, and queer is more australian than Brit these days. Haven't heard any of those used in my zoomer lifetime. People just stick to gay or bender a lot of the time.

        Think poof is mostly northern, the only people i've heard use it have been at least.
        Them and like 60 year olds
