This is fucking awful. I've already lost people I care about to it and now my best friend might have it. My partner works at an assisted living facility that has had so many covid deaths that the state is considering shutting it down. Seeing it be celebrated here, even ironically, really fucking sucks.
It seems really harsh, but people are just trying to process and cope with the intensity of the trauma. Same shit happens with EMS/Healthcare workers. My mum was a nurse (trauma/ER/Burn, mostly) and her humour was dark af.
