This post is basically to encourage people to check Linux out. What is stopping you from ditching Microsoft?
Edit: I forgot to mention this but if someone is looking for a recommendation for a Linux distribution then I'd personally recommend Manjaro KDE or just any of the popular distributions with KDE Plasma as the Desktop Environment really. Edit 2: For those who might be looking for more stability and don't need to have the most up to date software I'd recommend Kubuntu.
Rolling release distros as a new user are a good way to get a setup that's straight up irreperable with your current level of expertise.
You can't stop us from shooting ourselves in the foot, and then blaming the platform for it afterwards!
Should I edit the post and recommend Kubtuntu instead?
That would give me peace of mind.
I run fedora xfce as I want the latest software but lack the savvy to do anything beyond timeshift and nuke/pave when things go wrong. Tried KDE and thought it was purdy but XFCE keybinds are already burned into my brain.
