Whenever I hear someone use the term "yank" or "yankee" I only ever think of old southerners bitching about yankees taking away their great grandparent's slaves, because that's literally the only other usage I've seen it used besides randos on here calling people yanks when people get mad or bitter at them.
There are working class artists everywhere. it's just they dont sell so nobody cares.

You have to look for it, for obvious reasons it doesn't get much artificial exposure, but revolutionary art is out there.
They Might be Giants literally have a song called "the Communists Have the Music" and their first live show was at a Sandinista rally in NY.
They also did a bunch of songs for Dunkin Donuts and some stuff for CNN, but I guess you gotta make money somehow
