Words cannot describe how much this offends me personally. You have these (near homogeneously) white advocates of "pro-democracy forces" trying to compare the pinnacle of horror representative of the systemic racism present within the U.S. for >400 years with their supposed "oppression" from a party that fought for indigenous rights during Morales' tenure. Frankly, their appropriation of this is not only straight up incorrect, but it is offensive as hell.
MAS is the Movment For Socialsm (in English), it’s Evo Morales Party and the most popular party in Bolivia. Bloqueos means blockade, Throughout the country, trade unions and people sympathetic to MAS are holding general strikes and protests in response to the interim governments attempts to suppress the party. The Interim president postponed elections right after polling showed the MAS candidate would easily win the already scheduled elections. She’s also been arresting and terrorizing supporters since the coup.
