I remember getting a few quality yucks out of redditers dragging all the wacky tea partiers like Michele Bachmann who were appearing on the scene during Obama's first term. That was a more innocent time, when reddit was basically an outgrowth of the Wired comments section, and its politics was mostly just naive tech libertarianism and overzealous atheism.

The "good ol' days" ended with gamergate and Trayvon Martin, when the libertarian nerds lurched to the far right so fast it gave everyone whiplash, and reddit has been a hellsite ever since. In fact, it was probably shit before the alt-right became popular, I just didn't notice.
