Ignoring whatever happened in the comments to actually answer you. It is pretty bad. I have many friends in Texas. They've all been without heat for about 4 days now. The electricity came on in the third day for like 5 hours for two of them. But my third friend lives in Austin, and now they have a water boil notice. So even with the water back on, you shouldn't drink it or use it to bathe. It's bad. People have died from trying to sleep in their cars in a garage. Many people in TX barely have winter clothes or a lot of blankets. Lines at grocery stores are going for miles outside of the front door, all in freezing weather AND during a pandemic.

Does anyone even have a schedule for when everything can go back online? Like, is anyone taking responsibility? Or is it just like, 'hey, not my problem. There are no guarantees in life.' ?

The whole concept of "personal responsibility" that the right worships should be tied to the other side of the coin, which is "no government responsibility".

No idea but I just saw an article that said they averted a power failure that would take months to fix. So my guess is shit is fucked for awhile.

        Ain't deregulation great folks

Yea, I just saw that article. Or the twitter summary. Its trending. Its basically like "everyone, we saved the day. Congratulate us now. Disaster averted, thanks to our great electrical grid system and our team, etc etc. We just have to get past a few days of this now, and we should be all good!"
