like seriously, the trans aspect of my life hasn't improved at all since i've came out. I don't have healthcare that covers hormones or any kind of surgeries, i dont have any kind of employment protection, i can't change my name on my drivers license, and I can just straight up be shot in the head and someone can just claim that I was trying to have sex with them and they acted in self defense. Like cis people haven't given me shit, and "cis allies" have especially not given me shit. In fact, half of the time it seems like cis "allies" keep trying to argue with me over the fact that I keep telling them that they're not good enough, that their "allyship" is entirely performative. it just doesn't make any fucking sense to me

im about to just start selling trans ally cards, prove how good of an ally you are by sending me like 20 bucks for a little card that says "im nice to trans people :3"

What are somethings we CIS people can do to not just be performative allies, but actual ones and comrades?

be chill, don't try to speak over trans people, listen to trans people and echo their concerns, not just what you think their concerns are, and give aid to trans comrades when you're able to. its super simple and a lot of people seem to have problems with this, especially V*ushites

Are there any aid programs or things you recommend?

Are there concerns you feel are being overlooked in favor of the echo put out by "performative allies?" Whether on this site or maybe in general?

I don't have the best understanding of life for a trans person. I'm trying to learn to better sympathize and empathize with my comrades who are. Trans Liberation was a great book that really opened my eyes to how this struggle is played out, but of course I can never fully understand and I try to be aware of that.

i dont really know many off of the top of my head, but you can try to look around like #transcrowdfund on twitter and donate to people's gofundme's and shit if you want the laziest the possible option lol. I'm not really up to date on what trans charities you should be donating to, plus some are kinda regional. Probably try to stick to local/regional ones too, especially if you live in a conservative area.

And yeah, breadtubers like v*ush constantly weaponize their platform to speak over trans people, then they convince themselves that they're doing us a massive service cuz they said "trans rights uwu" when in reality like 99.9% of their audience agrees with the statement anyways.

and thank you for being open minded lol, i wish more cis people were like you. just make sure you never get yourself into any like "welllll actually my best friend is black soooo..." moments when ur talking about trans and other minority issues. like you said, you don't have the best understanding of the struggle, so try not to have any like cis savior moments lol.
