I VERY HIGHLY doubt Bill Maher would let anyone on his audience department even ask for them to clap. Believe it or not Bill Maher is one of the best comedians of all time, he’s one of the best entertainers of all time, he’s one of the best political commentators of all time.

You can disagree with some of the things Bill Maher says and still respect the incredible skills he has developed over decades of very difficult work.

Ever heard of the story, The Emperor Has No Clothes. Bill Maher has been the jester screaming to the rest of the world that Trump was naked for the past 5 years and too few people took Maher seriously.

I am a democrat, I love them, I especially respect Nancy Pelosi; however, Bill tried his best to ask them what their plan was to deal with Trump not being willing to leave the White House and the Congresspersons gave Bill platitudes and didn’t follow through on the consequences apparent if one even considered Maher’s warning.

And a seditious mob almost murdered our representatives. I’m not blaming any democrat for the mob; the Jan 6th insurrection was entirely Republicans’ fault. I’m pointing out that - if they had taken Bill more seriously - better security could have been applied as a preventative measure.

Maher spent 2 years warning people and they ignored him. And Mahers humble enough not to gloat about it.

Why some people expend energy hating Bill Maher is beyond me. He’s not a threat to you. He’s trying to help! He’s the definition of an American. If Bill Maher was alive in the late 1700s his signature probably would have been on the Deceleration of Independence too.

There's actually a decent amount of push back in there as Maher turns rightward like the boomer that he is. It's gonna be the next r/DaveRubin, which is a fitting fate.

Being a smug asshole hell bent on maintaining the status quo while going after those with no power to let people with power off the hook isn't funny or entertaining change my mind.

I think that image was taken from an ad for the show, and that was the lighting and colors used in the actual ad. Knowing that, the Smurf hat explains itself, I think.

One time he had a doctor on that claimed aids wasn’t real and cured Charlie Sheens HIV with goats milk.

Even most libs I know don't even like Maher anymore. He's one of the least likable people in media. An acquaintance of mine told me to watch his interview with Megyn Kelly this week because she "made some good points about the education system." It was just her rehashing her story about taking her kids out of a $56K/year private school because they taught her kids about trans rights. Not only is that not a bad thing, but it's hardly an example of education for the vast majority of American kids, as they were pretending. Then they talked about how minorities are too willing to feel like victims all while whining that they're being persecuted for being white. They did this of course without a shred of irony. Bill wants so badly to be cancelled so he can respond with performative incredulity but the thing is, nobody gives enough of a fuck to cancel him. The guy literally said the n-word on live TV and didn't lose his show or anything, how the fuck can anyone take him seriously when he cries about cancel culture?

Yeah, Idk if he actually wrote and produced it, or was just the host, so to speak, but it was so good. That and the one really good televangelist documentary have helped a number of people I know escape oppressive religious dogma

I was into Real Time for maybe a couple months before Trump's election. Then I realized the only reason why I'd started following it was because it was frequently featured on the Facebook news feed- another thing I promptly dumped.

Bill Maher is more than a comedian. He is an idea, a world-historical hero, light itself.
