Let’s make fun of this article of course, but it’s not wrong about Aimee Therese, red scare, even jimmy dore. Heck throw vaush in there too and you have a legitimate problem of this bullshit in “left media”

I’m trying to throw these people out of the left as hard as I can* but they just don’t seem to go away

(*Im just telling them to eat shit on twitter occasionally)

Aimee Terese is so funny to be put on there. I mean she belongs on the list maybe more than anyone, but a lot of the "irony left" and "dirtbag left" on twitter basically tells her to eat shit nonstop every time she makes a new account. Like while she personofies the phenomenon that the author is trying to describe, him trying to slander the broader dirtbag left becomes difficult when you center a figure that is nearly universally hated.

Eh, Liz Franczak sure is fond of her. But that's the only "major" dirtbag figure I'm familiar with who seems to like her unironically.

Man, I don't know what Liz's deal is. You start off TrueAnon thinking Brace is the worst because he talks all the time and has all that ironic misogyny stuff, but then Liz comes on and it's the same shit just unironically. No wonder she's enmeshed with the pickme crowd.

Liz is so fuckin weird about stuff. She's clearly smart enough to keep whatever regressive nonsense she has to herself, unlike red scare and dore, but I just know she has some weird fuckin takes.

In a way, it's a good sign that there are enough lefties on the internet that we've also attracted grifters. Just means you can't be naive about every single person with a webcam or a podcast who calls themselves a socialist.

Oh yeah, there's definitely some reactionaries who are adopting leftist aesthetics (or genuine leftists who have drifted more reactionary). The article loses credibility when it paints with a broader brush, and clearly it's more concerned with influential leftist alt-media than whether or not there are reactionaries on the left. Hell, I doubt the author even genuinely cares about stopping reactionaries from gaining power.
